[Friday, September 27, 2024 – Incheon, South Korea] Mohegan INSPIRE Entertainment Resort (President Chen Si, “Mohegan INSPIRE ” or ” INSPIRE “) announced that it has recently been named a ‘2024 Exemplary Workplace’ by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, receiving the ‘2024 Presidential Award for Job Creation.’ INSPIRE was also recognized for its contributions to the development of the tourism industry with the ‘2024 Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Award for Tourism Promotion,’ at ‘The 51st World Tourism Day Ceremony’ held today (September 27).
The ‘Korean Exemplary Workplace Award’ is an award of certification given by the Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL) to recognize companies that lead the way in creating quality jobs and improving employment quality. On September 5, INSPIRE was recognized as a ‘2024 Korea Exemplary Workplace’ at the ceremony hosted by MOEL in Yeouido, Seoul. In addition, INSPIRE’s Chief People Operations Officer Korea (CPOO), Hoekyung Koo, received the ‘2024 Presidential Award for Job Creation’ in recognition of creating quality jobs and hiring more than 1,600 permanent jobs for the resort’s opening last year.
Following the ‘Spirit of Aquai,’ the guiding philosophy of its parent company, Mohegan, INSPIRE is committed to the benefit of its employees, customers, and the community and cooperates with the government, municipalities, and the local community in various aspects. In particular, INSPIRE engages in industry-academic cooperation with over 30 educational institutions in Korea for a large-scale recruitment program to foster talent in the hotel and tourism sector.
“In order to provide stable permanent jobs for early-career professionals and to foster successful career settlement, INSPIRE is making great efforts to improve the job satisfaction and career development of new employees, and considers the preferences of young employees in terms of wages, welfare programs, and work arrangements,” said Charles Ahn, Talent Acquisition Lead of Mohegan INSPIRE. For instance, INSPIRE has proactively introduced various work arrangements such as flexible and compressed work arrangements, which are yet to be widely adopted in the hotel and resort industry, to ensure employees’ work-life-balance while increasing work efficiency and productivity.
Meanwhile, INSPIRE has also been recognized for its contributions to the development of the tourism industry at ‘The 51st World Tourism Day Ceremony,’ hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism (MCST) today (September 27) in Jung-gu, Seoul.
INSPIRE possesses a unique venue that includes a five-star hotel and F&B, shopping facilities, a cutting-edge MICE facility with the largest hotel ballroom in the industry with a maximum capacity of 4,000 attendees, as well as entertainment elements such as the Aurora and Rotunda. The resort has been contributing to the development of the tourism industry and the revitalization of the MICE industry by leveraging its strengths as an integrated entertainment resort to attract large-scale international MICE events in conjunction with the 15,000-seat performance-specialized arena, the first of its kind in Korea, which it also possesses.
“We are very delighted and honored that INSPIRE has become a resort recognized with meaningful awards by various government agencies, including MOEL and MCST, in a short period of time not even past the one-year mark since opening,” said Chen Si, President of Mohegan INSPIRE. “We will continue to work hard to be an integrated entertainment resort that contributes to job creation and the development of the tourism industry and grows alongside the local community” he added.
